Its amazing what you find in the rock pools.
Lovely to look at, but I find they are too tasty to keep as pets.
The inspiration for naming this piece came from Sponge Bob Squarepants.
About this artwork
The crab is a rock pool staple. Many of us have spent long summers (!) scouring rock pools in the west country and jumping out of our skins when we found one. I never got to grips with picking them up properly, neither did the pet dog...ouch!
This bottom feeder has great colouration and subtle textures.
Croix de Crab was requested by my wife Rachel as a companion for the Lonesome Lobster, which I painted in watercolour in the year 2000.

My limited edition prints are of the highest quality and should be considered to be an investment.
There is so much more passion and soul in a painting, which cannot be conveyed in a photograph - and I love photography.
